EDTA Disodium Salt

EDTA-2Na (disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, disodium EDTA) is incorporated in products to chelate and sequester metal ions. In personal care products the incorporation of the EDTA chemical increases the shelf life and enhances foaming properties. Disodium EDTA can be used in skin care, shampoo, dyes, lotion, gel, cosmetics and other cleaning products. When comparing EDTA-2Na versus EDTA -4Na; EDTA-2Na has a pH lower than 7 whereas EDTA-4Na has a pH higher than 7.
