Sodium Meta Nitrobenzene Sulfonate (MNBSA) is sodium 3-nitrobenzenesulfonate. In the electroplating industry it is an electroplating stripper and developing agent. It is used to protect fiber reactive dyes from being chemically reduced, make dye colors brighter by preventing their inactivation before they can bind to the fiber. It is a raw material in the synthesis of quinolone, and can be used as a viscosity controlling agent.
