The B vitamin family are all water soluble and help the body convert carbohydrates into glucose, as well as help the body metabolize fats and protein. Overall, B vitamins are required to maintain a healthy liver, skin, hair, eyes, nervous system, and brain function. A deficiency of vitamin B1 commonly leads to beriberi.
